HOME JOBS RESOURCE LIST

Home Jobs Resource List

For those we do not chose to pursue a career with DIS, or for those who have chosen to go elsewhere, here’s the deal, this position here at DIS is a sort of “Work for yourself” type of job. If you need something a bit different, or just want to extend your portfolio/resume this is an extended list of work at home opportunities and the specific information needed to contact this company and/or inquire or apply. Also, if you work in an office all day, and answer the emails and place ads part time at home, but are interested in getting a permanent position with a large company who wants their employees to work from their own home office, (AT&T, Nortel, Merrill Lynch etc.), just options; that is what we desire to provide.

We have taken a lot of time to not only provide this information to add value for you and to say thank you for even considering DIS, but also to provide a vast array of options for the home worker. Below, you will see the list of links to companies who hire home workers. Copy/paste the URL into your browser and fill out as many of the online applications as you wish. None of the companies below charge a FEE and they are all looking for people who are willing to work out of their homes. (Be assured we are dedicated, no, determined to insure all of the employment opportunities offered are legitimate companies with legitimate “at home” opportunities. Fill out an application(s), and they will contact you. You can apply directly to the type of position you want - be it data entry, email processors, appointment setters, medical claims processing,
telephone processing, (<--customer service, not soliciting) online business rep's, virtual assistants/secretaries. As previously stated, there are also more advanced positions, such as
writers, web-content assisting, and proof readers.

Note: You must have the skills and requirements that are stated for each position to have your application "qualify". If your typing speed is 35 wpm, please do not indicate that it is more than that, because they might ask that you do a keyboarding test to determine your speed, and I
know of instances where this has been asked. They have programs much like the ones you can try online for free at sites like www.typingtest.com to determine your data entry qualifications, so you can get a genuine assessment of your skills and qualifications. (And, typingtest.com is a great place to not only test your speed, but to practice/chart your progress for those of you who
are trying to increase your data entry speed.)

I wish you the BEST of luck! We will continue to work hard to help put the scammers out of business! Remember that you are now an independent partner in our company, so any links you come across that may help other home workers reach their goals, please include that information in the version of this manual you send to your new members. Doing this, we are always growing,
unemployment goes down, women and men get to be free and parent their own children, retired
people get to make the extra money they just can’t get otherwise, the disabled living on an unlivable wage, it is astronomical the impact we, as a dynamic team, may have on so many others. Good Stuff!

Employment Links:
Variety – with information and links and/or phone information You can check these companies out to see if and when openings become available. Or, just click on their "Careers" or "Employment" tab - fill out an online application, and they'll keep you in their system and contact you. They are looking for us!

•THE HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP Home Based Workers: 4,000 +
The Hartford has offered telecommuting as one of eight flexible work options since 1996. Now, the telecommuting program is so successful, the company cannot say exactly how many workers they have working from home. All requests for home based work are either approved or denied by individual managers. All staff members are eligible to apply and The Hartford even offers a class to help employees create their proposals and requests for home based work. The company may pay for everything from equipment to furniture and office supplies.

•NORTEL NETWORKS Home Based Workers: 5,000 +
The telecommunications equipment maker's Home Base program began in 1994.
Today, more than 250 new home based workers are joining each month. Nortel pays for virtually everything its full-time tele-workers need, including home office furniture. At some locations, several popular office modules are on display for prospective employees to choose from. http://www.nortelnetworks.com/~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

•AT&T Home Based Worker: 9,000 and growing
The telecommunications giant officially introduced telework in the 1980's, but managers were slow to catch on to the idea. Thanks to the highly successful "Telecommuting Day" in 1994, where several top dogs stayed home, that all changed. Today the number of AT&T employees that work from home has grown 29 percent.

•GEORGIA POWER Home Based Workers: 250 +
In response to Atlanta's growing air pollution problem, the electrical utility started a telework program in 1993. On official "smog alert" days, every department is asked to make arrangements for employees to work from home. Better yet, Georgia Power spends up to $9,000 to outfit a home office, which includes the purchase of a high-end computer, printer, fax, office furniture and supplies and an ISDN line. Demand for the program is high, say company officials, but participation is expected to grow.

•MERRILL LYNCH Home Based Workers: 1,300 and growing
Financial services provider Merrill Lynch introduced several telecommuting programs in 1995. All equipment is selected and paid for by Merrill Lynch. They also inspect home offices for safety and ergonomics before an employee is allowed to telecommute. Employees receive training in such areas as setting up a home office, connection to the company network and how telework affects customers and co-workers. Before employees are allowed to work from home, they must spend six days in the "Telework Simulation Lab" where they will have access to a computer, phone fax and little else.

Document Coding
Coding is when a coder reviews a document and uses data entry skills and is usually legal in manner. The coder will take basic data about each document and enter it into an index. The basic things a coder looks for is: Document Date, Author(s), Recipient(s), Document Type, and Title. The work is not hard, but it detailed orientated and it's not for everyone. Due to the fact that the work is in the legal field, everything needs to remain confidential, including posts on message boards. We are not at liberty to discuss any sort of specifics.
